Child Safety
Child Safety is paramount for every parent and if you're like me, you probably spend a good deal of your time worrying about how to keep your children safe from harm, whilst at the same time allowing them the freedom they need to mature and grow.
Danger is all around us in some shape or form, whether it be around the home and the sharp edges on doors or tables, in the car, or walking down the street or through the mall.
However, it is important, if mainly for your own sanity, to keep some perspective on these dangers. Statistically, the vast majority of products designed for kids are very safe, the food you feed them has been rigorously tested, the Car Seat even more so and contrary to popular belief, the outside world is not full of psychopaths.
The reasons for this are you and me, the parents. Over the last hundred years and more, we have demanded that all these things meet certain standards that are safe for our children to use, eat and visit.
But we must remain vigilant. Unfortunately there will always be the exception that proves the rule. A company will put profit before safety, there is a tiny number of weird people out there who will do harm if left unchecked so it is up to all of us to watch out for and report these indiscretions so that they can be stalled before serious incidents occur.
There are many organizations out there to help us keep our children safe. Make use of our Child Safety Directory and if you have cause to make a report or a complaint, use our Product Safety and Complaints page.
