How do you read to Your Baby when all they want to do is put the book in their mouth??
I have a ton of books, some that have shapes that come out, and some are just regular books.
I want to read to him but he could care less about the reading part, he just wants to take the book and play with it and put it i his mouth.
Do others read to their babies and have this experience? My son is 6 months old.
I did get some audio books for the car and he seems to enjoy listening.
I agree with the other answer... let him play with one while you're reading another.. its the listening that really matters even if he's not paying attention he's still getting used to all the different sounds of our language. He'll become more and more interested as he gets older. Not to worry. In a year or so he'll be bringing you his favorite books. Also reading should NEVER become stressful for him (or you) because you'll be less and less likely to continue. So take it all with a grain of salt. The audio books are great too. Just enjoy your time with him... 6 months old is only the beginning of all the fun enjoy it while its here cause it'll be gone quickly. Take care and good luck.
