How to take GOOD pictures at my home?
I sell handmade hair accesories on ebay, for babies, toddlers & girls, and my Little Princess is my model, =) I take the pictures outside of my house because I think that the pictures are better when they are taken on "natural light" , But now It's getting cold, and I don't want to take my baby outside, so today I tried to take pictures at home, But I didn't like them at all, because the accesories didn't look like the real colors, the pictures came out different (very ugly), I used a lot of light and a black bacground, but I didn't like how they look like . 1st I took my pictures w/o flash and they came out blurry and like in a "brown color" then I took them with flash and they were too bright =(
I was wondering,How can I take good pictures of my daughter modeling my accesories,all I want is that the photos looks in they real color. ( My camera is a Sony DSC-H9)
I tried with almost all the setting but they looked worst ....

It looks like your camera has the ability to manually balance the white point. What you need to do is mount it to a tripod so you can shoot without a flash in low light. Although if your daughter moves (very likely) then you'll still get blurry pictures. You may have to settle for a stationary model.
- Light the area to your taste.
- Get a poster-sized sheet of the whitest paper you can find
- Place the paper where you will put your subjects, and in such a way that the light hits the paper the same way it will hit your subjects
- Using the manual white balance feature, sample the white paper and save the value (should be in the camera's manual)
(This tells the camera what color "pure white" is)
- Now remove the paper and start shooting photos without the flash
You will need to sample the white point manually each time the light changes. So each time you list or if you list in the day and then again in the night, you have to resample.
One other thing you can try is to change the color balance and levels in a program before uploading your images to ebay. My wife does this in Adobe Photoshop Elements for her listings (it came with her Sony DSC-V1)
