Anyone know of a good infant scale?
I am having to monitor my breastfed babies weight because we are having issues with weight gain. I have to go once a week right now for weight checks and it is a big pain to have to drive to the ped every week. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good infant scale (at a decent price) that I could use at home to weigh my baby.
I'd probably go with a digital kitchen scale. (Just peeked at Amazon, and they have dozens in the $25/range.) Very accurate and cheaper than a baby scale.
(However, I would caution against buying a scale. If you have your own, it's easy to get caught up in constant weighing -- and then fretting because baby gained less today than yesterday, or took 'only' 2 ounces at a feeding rather than 3 ounces. Babies DON'T gain weight steadily, and while it's a bit of hassle to drive to the office, you do get a more accurate picture with weekly (or bi-weekly or monthly) weighings than daily ones.)
