Can you add ports to motherboards?
I recently purchased an older motherboard (NIB) and it does not have a vga port. It does have a parallel port and a serial port. By chance can you add a vga port or will one of the other ports work with a monitor?
No, you cannot add an AGP slots to motherboards, but you can add a video card into an expansion slot.
Depending on the age of your motherboard you should have either regular PCI slots, an AGP slot, or PCI-Express (PCI-E) slots (or some combination of them). You can use the site below to help you identify the type of expansion slots you have

The type of expansion slots your motherboard has determines what kind of video card you can put in. PCI-Express is better than AGP which is better than regular PCI.
