Nasal Aspirators (aka snot suckers!) - do they work?!?
We've had the worst nights sleep ever with our 4 month old who has a stinking cold. She woke up about every 15-20 minutes through the night as she could hardly breathe, she sucks her fingers for comfort which just exacerbates the problem. Poor little thing was so bunged up and we couldn''t help, she was getting panicky and it was horrible.
Anyway, I've seen nasal aspirators on Mothercare and Boots websites and I want to get one asap, but they have very mixed reviews. Anyone used one and got any recommendations? Must be available from a shop (UK) so I can nip out and get one before tonight!

They work, yes, and can really be a life saver. You just have to keep doing it. Try getting the vicks baby rub. It really helps. Also a vaporizer would help you out. Also if you can lay her in anything that has a raised back, that would help her drain. Try putting the mattress up a little bit with a pillow under it if you have a s.i.d.s pillow so she doesn't roll over. We have a papasan swing that my son slept in when he was sick. Very comfy.
