What To Expect From Infant Development

The first year of a babies life the infant development changes very quickly. When Your Baby is two months you will see them beginning to laugh and smile. They should also start to make cute noises. If you lay them on their stomachs they can hold their head and chest up for a short amount of time. Babies can also watch your movements with their eyes and turn when they hear a noise at two months.

You should keep in mind that babies are all different and they do not have the same personalities. Some babies may be calm and relaxed, while other babies cry often and need a lot of attention to keep them happy. There are babies that can be happy just sitting in their baby swing while other babies will cry if you put them in their swing.

Do not needlessly worry over the temperament of your baby. You will learn to know what they like and dislike and what type of personality they have. You also do not have to worry if other babies are doing things your baby is not doing just yet. Some babies just learn a little slower than others. If it makes you feel better though you can always go to the doctor for a check up.

Four month old babies are able to sit with a little support and even roll over. To help your baby sit without much support you can put pillows all the way around them so that if they do fall then they do not get hurt. This just helps them to sit without tipping over. At this age babies can also hold rattles.

At six months old babies should be able to imitate some speech sounds. They will not necessarily be talking yet but they will start trying to. They can also reach for objects and sit without the need of support.

At nine months your little one will be able to pull up while holding on to things. As long as they have something to hold on to they will be able to stand. You can also help them learn to walk by holding both their hands and walking with them.

Dining with the family is an important part of infant growth. This is where baby high chairs come in handy. The Stokke High Chair brand grow with the infant.
